Software Engineer

Building software that solves real‑world problems.

I'm Girish Bhuteja. I like understanding difficult problems, then turning them into practical products across full‑stack engineering, AI, and data.

Portrait of Girish Bhuteja
• Mission

I enjoy understanding difficult problems, learning what is needed, and turning ideas into practical products people can actually use. My work sits at the intersection of software, AI, data, and leadership.

• Philosophy

Technology is the solution, not the story.

Problems Before Technologies

Technology is a tool, not the identity. Every architectural decision is driven by real user constraints, business viability, and deployment requirements, not developer hype cycles.

Technical Rigor & Quality

Robust code is proven, not assumed. I focus on comprehensive testing tiers (unit, integration, system) and statistical validation to ensure system reliability and model precision.

Trade-off Awareness

No technology stack is perfect. Honest engineering means identifying compromises: balancing development speed against response times, memory footprints, and future scale.

Jan 2025 – Present

Conestoga College

Open Education Technology Project Assistant

Waterloo, ON

The work itself is digital equity engineering. I build accessible HTML/CSS templates for Pressbooks, H5P Studio, and WordPress-based open courses that support 1,000+ students across Business, Health Sciences, and Community Services, courses students use at zero cost.

May 2025 – Present

Olive Branch Mentorship Inc.

Web & Tech Integration Specialist (Volunteer)

Cambridge, ON

The most consequential work has been integration: I've wired in 5+ third-party APIs and restructured how the backend synchronizes data, which measurably cut user-facing response times. I also contribute to their mobile application, core UI/UX features and multi-device compatibility testing.

• Leadership

Beyond the codebase.

IT Club, Conestoga College

President

100+ students equipped

I run the IT Club the way I'd run a product: with a roadmap. Workshops, Build Nights, hackathons, and mentorship programs, planned as an annual arc that has equipped 100+ students with technical and industry skills.

Mar 2025 – Jul 2025

HackTheBrain, Toronto Tech Week

Director, Student Success Team

250+ attendee AI hackathon

I managed end-to-end participant operations for a 250+ attendee AI hackathon: onboarding, team assignments, Discord coordination, and post-event certification.
